LLamasoft Will be the Standard Tool for Supply Chain Design
ANN ARBOR, Mich and LONDON (Oct 9, 2013) – LLamasoft, the global leader in supply chain design software solutions, has announced that Lafarge Tarmac has selected LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru as the standard application for supply chain design throughout the company’s global enterprise.
Lafarge Tarmac is a 50:50 joint venture which is equally owned by Lafarge and Anglo American plc and combines both companies’ cement and lime, aggregates, ready-mix concrete, asphalt and asphalt surfacing, maintenance services and waste services businesses. Lafarge Tarmac began trading in January 2013, following final clearance from the UK Competition Commission and is now the UK’s leading construction materials and services company.
“We selected LLamasoft as our supply chain design partner based on the knowledge and experience of the LLamasoft team and the technical superiority of the solution,” said Oliver Hird, Senior Manager of Supply Optimisation, Lafarge Tarmac. “The simplified data handling and scenario management, stability of the software and the modern user interface significantly reduce the time it takes to get answers compared to our previous design solution.”
“LLamasoft is very excited about supporting Lafarge Tarmac,” added Tom Davies, Director of European Business Development for LLamasoft. “The joint venture names are excellent and well-recognized brands throughout the UK and we are eager to help them improve and extend their supply chain design capabilities.”Media Contact
