Donald A. Hicks
Founder, President, & CEO
Donald A. Hicks is the founder, President and CEO of LLamasoft, Inc. Don is a supply chain industry visionary, specializing in strategy and technology issues and a highly sought after speaker and author. Over the last 20 years, he has personally consulted with and coached supply chain professionals at hundreds of companies around the world to optimize and improve their operations. Don has a BS in Systems Engineering from the US Military Academy at West Point, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Co-Founder, Executive Vice President
Toby is the co-founder and executive vice president of LLamasoft. Over the last decade, he has helped bring supply chain design into the corporate mainstream as a key business process and competitive weapon, and has positioned LLamasoft as the leading global supply chain design technology provider. Toby is a frequent presenter and panelist at supply chain and logistics leadership forums, has been named a ‘Pro to Know’ and has authored dozens of articles on the growing importance of supply chain design as a key competitive weapon.
Toby has over 20 years of experience in building and growing technology businesses, primarily focused on process improvement and analytics. His expertise has been used to launch new technologies into mainstream use at global Fortune 500 businesses. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
Chief Financial Officer
John is the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s financial planning, accounting, reporting and contract administration. Prior to joining LLamasoft, John held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Healthmedia, overseeing all of their finances. He has led various technology companies from the start-up phase through financial stability, profitability, merger and acquisition. His diverse background includes over 12 years in public accounting with the firms Coopers & Lybrand and Arthur Andersen where he gained knowledge of different business and financial models. John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing
Bob McFarland oversees global sales and marketing for LLamasoft. Bob is an experienced senior technology industry executive with more than 25 years of experience growing businesses by delivering high-impact technology solutions to retail, consumer products and other industry vertical markets. Most recently he was Senior Vice President, Global Sales at Epicor Retail. Bob has also served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of SAP’s U.S. retail business and as Senior Vice President, Americas at Manugistics, now a JDA company.
VICE PRESIDENT OF SOLUTION DESIGN
TC Baker is the Vice President of Solution Design for LLamasoft. His team of Solution Designers supports new sales opportunities by mapping prospective client requirements to LLamasoft capabilities. With over 25 years in the advanced planning and optimization arena, TC has held leadership roles in software development, field implementation and project consulting, product management, and sales. He has extensive experience in the integration of best-of-breed planning systems with ERP systems as well as integrated business planning in the process industries. Prior to joining LLamasoft he served as director of sales at Quintiq and has also held roles at WAM Systems, Aspen Technology and Chesapeake Decision Sciences. He is a regular contributor and thought leader on trends and challenges within the supply chain industry. He holds a BS in Computer & Information Science from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and an MBA from Rutgers University with a focus on Operations Research.
Vice President of Professional Services
Michael Detampel is Vice President of Professional Services at LLamasoft, overseeing implementation and consulting services and supporting our customers as an expert in supply chain design. Michael’s career spans over 20 years of supply chain strategy and operations. Prior to joining LLamasoft Michael spent 18 years working with leading global organizations as a logistics provider and management consultant. He has extensive experience in end-to-end supply chain design including technology architecture and implementation, network optimization, transportation, warehousing and distribution, strategic planning, international trade and compliance and reverse logistics. Michael has implemented supply chain operations in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Michael received his M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Georgia Tech and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Marquette University. He has completed additional coursework toward a Ph.D. in Operations Research.
Dr. Nejat Karabakal
Vice President of Supply Chain Technologies
Dr. Nejat Karabakal is the Vice President of Supply Chain Technologies. His primary focus is on the development of LLamasoft’s supply chain network and inventory optimization technologies. Nejat is a published author on Supply Chain & Operations Research techniques. He has 15+ years of experience in supply chain analysis, including time with Production Modeling Corporation and IBM Consulting. Nejat holds a PhD in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan; and a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey.
Vice President of Solutions Strategy
As vice president of solutions strategy, Jeff Metersky has global responsibility for designing comprehensive supply chain design solutions comprised of technology, services, support, education and training for future and existing LLamasoft customers. Throughout his career he has consulted in over 100 supply chain design and inventory optimization engagements across a variety of industries and geographies. Prior to joining LLamasoft, Jeff co-founded CHAINalytics and was part of the team that brought i2 Supply Chain Strategist to market. Jeff holds a BS degree in industrial engineering from The University of Illinois and an MBA in materials and logistics management from Michigan State University.
Vice President of Software Development
Chris Schneider is Vice President of Software Development with global responsibility for the development of LLamasoft’s suite of products. Chris brings 20 years of experience in the enterprise software industry. After earning his mathematics undergraduate degree in Operations Research from the University of Michigan, he spent the first portion of his career as an Oracle DBA and data and systems architect for Oracle and Seagate in Silicon Valley. He has spent the past 15 years building and leading engineering and professional services teams for enterprise software organizations. Prior to LLamasoft, Chris was VP of Technical Operations at Blazent where he led the transformation to a cloud, SaaS-based offering with a highly secure environment focused on the financial industry.
Vice President of Product Management
Mike Sundquist is Vice President of Product Management at LLamasoft, with global responsibility for product management, training, support and customer success. Mike has over 15 years of experience in delivering high value software solutions, and excels at managing product portfolios designed to automate critical business functions including chain design, procurement and strategic sourcing. Prior to joining LLamasoft, Mike served as Vice President of SLM Solution Management at PTC, Inc., and he had product leadership roles at Arbortext, Inc., GXS and TPN Register, LLC. Early in his career, Mike held several key management positions within General Electric. He received a BS degree in computer science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
