Announcing
the Release of Supply Chain Guru version 2.8
January 16, 2006 - Supply
Chain Guru version 2.8 is now available to LLamasoft customers.
It was released on January 10, 2006. The many new features prove,
once again, that LLamasoft is leading the world in supply chain
optimization and simulation technology.
President and CEO of LLamasoft, Donald Hicks, states
"Supply Chain Guru release 2.8 is an exciting new upgrade
that further illustrates LLamasoft's leadership in this area.
Most of the new features in this new release were driven based
on customer feedback and requests. We know most modeling efforts
require responsiveness from the developer and release 2.8 clearly
demonstrates LLamasoft's commitment to making each and every customer
successful."
Version 2.8 of Supply Chain Guru includes a feature that will
automatically calculate inventory policy settings. The Auto Calculate
Inventory Policy Settings tool can be found under the Tools menu.
Based on the average demand, its standard deviation, the replenishment
lead time, the type of sourcing policy and the desired service
rate inventory settings (such as reorder point and reorder/order
up to qty), Supply Chain Guru can automatically change the inventory
policy settings so that the selected service rate will be achieved
at sites that source customers.
Apart from the Auto Calculate Inventory Policy Setting tool, LLamasoft
recently focused on the addition of several graphs to enhance
the ability to analyze supply chains. A Graphs menu option has
been added on the menu bar with several new graphs below. Besides
the Supply & Demand and Single Scenario graphs, there are
two new graphs that allow you to analyze the optimization output
network summary and site summary results. Four simulation output
graphs have been added to display the network summary, site summary,
product summary and asset summary details.
Also, the new Show Statistics tool calculates the average of values
in a certain column on an output table. It is located under the
Metrics menu and also on the edit toolbar. The Show Statistics
tool creates a new table with that shows the average per site/per
product, the standard deviation, the number of values for which
the statistics are calculated, and the 95th percentile upper and
lower confidence intervals.
If you have a maintenance and support agreement, you may view
all of the details in this new release on the version
history page.
