pre-announcing the release of Supply Chain Guru 4.0.
Multi-time period optimization
is among the new features of Supply Chain Guru 4.0. This new functionality
is ideal for companies that experience seasonal demand spikes
or wide variation in demand over time. It is also highly useful
for companies that are experiencing significant or unexpected
growth in product demand, production or distribution.
By segmenting a large time range
of transactions into shorter periods, these period segments can
be optimized individually, and then collectively factored to find
the optimal solution over the complete period. Each period takes
into account variation in factors such as inventory, capacity,
costs, and constraints.
Greenfield Analysis Algorithm is
also included with Supply Chain Guru 4.0. The locations (i.e.
latitude and longitude) of a user-defined number of distribution
centers can be calculated by this optimization analysis method.
It is based on customer demand and is a weighted latitude &
longitude calculation.
