Applimation & LLamasoft Announce Spin-Off of Supply Chain Technologies

Today, the leaders of Applimation, Inc., based in New York City, New York, and LLamasoft, Inc. announced the spin-off of several key strategic supply chain technologies and intellectual property into a newly formed business unit targeted at the Supply Chain Strategic Planning market. The new business unit has an old name, "LLamasoft, Inc." LLamasoft was originally formed in 1998 to apply the power of discrete event simulation to the supply chain strategic planning market. Simulation allows for extremely accurate modeling of alternative scenarios, enabling supply chain planners the capability of trying out high risk changes to the supply chain in a low risk environment.

LLamasoft was acquired by Crystallize, Inc. (who later became Applimation, Inc.) in 2000. This technology spin-off marks the reunion of the original founder and management team with the flagship product, "Supply Chain Guru."
