Restructuring the Supply
Chain Planning Software Landscape.gif) Over the last
12 months, LLamasoft has been executing on our most ambitious
development strategy ever. This strategy has involved four
parallel development teams and millions of lines code and
includes numerous groundbreaking supply chain planning
capabilities that will change the way in which companies plan
their supply chain operations.
These new product
releases will also cement LLamasoft’s place as a true leader
in the supply chain planning market.
Phase
1 of this four-phase plan was released in December
2008, as Version 5.0 of Supply Chain Guru. This first
development phase involved a complete redesign of the Supply
Chain Guru™ system architecture, setting the foundation for
all of the new product features being developed in Phases Two
through Four.
Phase 2 of this plan was
completed in March 2009, and is being released to our new and
existing customers as Version 5.1. This newest version comes
with key enhancements that accelerate supply chain model
building process, simplify data management, and improve the
user’s analysis and reporting options. Highlights
include:
| Visual Modeling – A new
way for users to visually display and interact with
their supply chain operational data. Users can rapidly
create and edit multiple views of the supply chain based
upon geography, products, business units, or any unique
attribute using an interactive display which includes
geographic views as well as a range of flow charting
options. Our early users have found that this
quick-filter visualization promotes a better
understanding of product flows throughout the supply
chain and enables the modeling of major changes without
time consuming manual data manipulation, saving days and
even weeks of model building and analysis effort. |
| Input Pipes - An innovative
technology that simplifies and speeds the collection,
updating, and maintenance of key data elements used for
optimization and simulation analysis. Input Pipes enable
users to take complex data such as transportation costs
for source/destination/products or product/plant
production costs and create automated data flows into
Supply Chain GuruTM. These data tables can be
continuously updated and maintained outside of Supply
Chain GuruTM, eliminating many of the most
time-consuming data migration efforts that most analysis
face. |
| Enhanced Reporting - The latest
version of Supply Chain Guru also includes enhanced
native reports and graphing capabilities, enabling a
user to create, name, and save their own custom reports.
This new version includes integration with Tableau™, a
market leader in business intelligence reporting. Supply
Chain Guru™ now ships with over 50 pre-configured Supply
Chain GuruTM scenario analysis reports and over 200
pre-configured reporting workbooks that can be used by
any Tableau™ licensee to visualize the output of a
LLamasoft network model. |
|
Project Navigator - Users can now
customize their data views and sequence the analytical
workflow for a project. For example, users can hide
certain data tables or move tables up or down to map to
their particular sequence of collection and analysis.
These preferences can then be saved, to promote a faster
and more efficient modeling experience.

Phase 3 & 4 of
LLamasoft's four-phase development are scheduled for release
in late Q2 2009, and both of these new development initiatives
will offer supply chain planning functionality that is not
currently being offered anywhere.
